After working in the independent school setting for almost 20 years, first as a middle school educator and then as a middle and upper school counselor, I have both broad and specific expertise in supporting children, adolescents and parents in the independent school environment.  I know the structures, resources, procedures and challenges of the independent school, and can help you and your child navigate those well.

 

When barriers to learning arise, it can be difficult for children, parents, and school personnel, to work together and develop a plan for supporting the student and reducing those barriers.  I bring two decades of successful experience in advocating for families while they address the rigor of the independent school world. I can skillfully interface with your student, and their teachers and administrators, learning specialists and counselors to get the support your child or teen and your family needs. The goal is not to “do it for you,” but to help build your own capacities in the process.

 

As an independent school consultant, I offer customizable packages of services to families that typically include, but are not limited to:
