I work to help clients realize who they want to be, where they want to go in life, and what the missing pieces are that would help them get there.  I believe that we keep developing throughout our entire lifespans. The transitions of life during childhood, pre-adolescence and adolescence, early adulthood, and parenthood can be both challenging and exciting—if we get the support needed to recognize ourselves with understanding and compassion.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), longtime secondary school educator, and previously worked as a middle school counselor at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. I have worked as a play therapist, school counselor to lower, middle and upper school students, and as a parent educator.  I have taught Human Development to 11-18 year-olds for many years and strongly believe that a developmental perspective is important when working with clients in therapy.  A young child practicing social skills and working to connect with peers, a child entering adolescence and exploring his identity, or a parent with a new baby all represent life transitions that are part of the normal developmental landscape.  I’m dedicated to helping you navigate these and other phases of your life in successful ways.

I have worked with children and parents during the transition to middle school and understand the various aspects of adolescence as they relate to human development, family dynamics, and school life.  Having been a parent educator for the last decade I deeply understand the impact of digital media on children’s development, family health and well-being, and parenting.
